    Consignor Information

    Thank you for your interest in consigning with The Brandermill Church Children’s Consignment Sale. Please make sure you read the Consignor Information and Consignor Agreement carefully.

    General Information

    ·              We offer 2 options as a consignor:

              o    Consign AND work a full volunteer shift (4 hours total) at the sale and receive 80% of the sales price for items sold.
                      NOTE: It is the consignor’s responsibility to sign in at the volunteer station prior to their shift, receive a name tag and check out after their shift is completed. If these                      steps are not followed, you will not be considered as completing a full volunteer shift and your consignor percentage will be reduced accordingly.

              o    Consign only and receive 60% of the sales price for items sold.

    ·         All consignors have the opportunity to shop during the consignor pre-sale on Friday, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm (3:30 pm to 7:00pm if you volunteer a full 4 hour volunteer shift). This is limited to the consignor and/or volunteer ONLY. Please do not bring relatives, friends, etc.  Children under the age of 10 are not permitted at the consignor or volunteer pre-sale.

    ·         Consignors may elect to increase the percentage of donations of their sales. 

    Items Accepted

    ·         children’s clothing up to junior sizes (no adult clothing), shoes, infant equipment, toys, games, puzzles, bikes, books, videos, DVD’s, CD's, computer games and accessories, baby and children's furniture.

    ·         All items must pertain to children.

    ·         We do not accept stuffed animals, VHS tapes, maternity clothes, carseats with manufacturing dates greater than 3 years, fall/winter clothing, used undergarments, pacifiers or bottle nipples. 

    ·         Infant clothing (sizes newborn-6 months) is limited to 25 items.

    ·         DVDs must be rated PG-13 or below.

    ·         We do not accept any recalled items (visit cpsc.gov

    Item Limit

    ·         Due to space availability, consignors are limited to 200 items.  Please select your best items to bring.  The limit will help us to display each item without overfilling racks and tables, thus making it easier for the shoppers to view the items. 

    Quality & Condition of Items

    ·         All items offered for sale must be in clean, good working condition.

    ·         Do not submit clothing that shows excessive wear or has stains, spots, rips, broken zippers, missing buttons or that smells of cigarette smoke or mold.

    ·         Do not submit shoes that are dirty, ripped or show excessive wear.

    ·         All toys, games, equipment and furniture must be cleaned and in working order with all pieces included.

    ·         All electronic equipment, toys, etc. must having working batteries.

    ·         Our sale is known for the high quality items that we offer. Please help up maintain this quality so everyone involved benefits – if YOU would not buy it, don’t ask us to sell it!

    Items that do not meet our quality standards will be pulled from the sale at our discretion.

    Tagging/Preparing Items

    ·         ALL items MUST be tagged using our new sale management system.  You can access it using your consignor ID and password at https://www.myconsignmentsale.com/bccs. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY ITEMS FOR SALE TAGGED WITH THE OLD TAGS AND/OR THAT ARE NOT ENTERED INTO THE SALE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

    ·         Tags must be printed on white paper or cardstock.  We will NOT accept colored tags.

    TaTags should be securely attached to clothing with a safety pin to the right side of the item as you are looking at the item.  See example below for location. If you are selling multiple pieces together (shirt & pants, etc), safety pin both items together and place ONE tag on the entire set.

    ·         Tags should be securely attached with CLEAR tape to books, toys, plastic bags, furniture, etc.

    ·         Shoes should be placed together in plastic bags to avoid being separated. If the shoes are too big to be placed in a gallon sized plastic bag, they may be zip tied together with a tag SECURLY fastened to the shoes with a safety pin.

    ·         Items with multiple pieces should be placed in plastic bags and the tag secured with tape to the OUTSIDE of the bag. Tape all bags closed. If you have a large item with smaller pieces that should be placed in plastic bags, it is helpful to write a description on the tag of the larger item that indicates there are smaller pieces that accompany it.  Additionally, it is helpful if you place an index card in the bag with the smaller items that give a description of the larger item in case the items become separated.

    ·         ALL clothing must be on wire or thin hangers – do not use plastic hangers. Consignors must provide their own hangers. Any clothing items NOT on hangers will NOT be accepted.

    ·         Pants, jeans and skirts should be attached to the hanger using safety pins. Please use the top part of the hanger so the item does not slide around. The hanger hook should be facing to the left. See picture below.

    ·         No straight pins or staples allowed.

    ·         Tag & Hanger Placement – position tag & hanger as shown below.

    Items not properly tagged will not be accepted – to ensure proper credit for your items, please follow these instructions carefully.

    Lost or incorrectly tagged items are not the responsibility of the sale. We are careful to minimize these situations, but we ask that you be gracious with us in this matter. Items without tags will be on the LOST TAG table. These items will not be sold without a tag. It is the responsibility of the consignor to check this area at the end of the sale to retrieve the item.

     

    Pricing Guidelines

    ·         PRICE TO SELL. Consider what YOU would pay for the item. Customers are looking for bargains. Avoid sentimental pricing.

    ·         As a general rule, items sell for about 25-30% of current retail price. Clean, excellent condition, brand name items command higher prices. If possible, create sets and package same type items together (coordinating clothes, socks hair accessories, and onesies, bottles blankets, towels, books ,etc.) Pin these together or put in plastic bags and make ONE tag for the set. Note on the tag that the item is a set of 3, etc. This will save time and create a higher value.

    Drop-Off Instructions

    ·         Items to be sold must be dropped off at The Brandermill Church at the time you selected on the Sign-Up Genius RSVP and Drop-Off link.  We will NOT accept items earlier or later than the 3:00 pm-7:00 pm window on the Thursday of each sale due to church and volunteer security availability.

    ·         Consignors must check-in, verify their address and agree to the Consignor Agreement prior to dropping off their items.

    ·         Consignors MUST print out a copy of the tag logs and submit them at check-in.

    ·         We reserve the right to reject items on plastic hangers, items improperly hung or tagged, items with excessive stains/odors, items not working, items missing pieces, items with the incorrect consignor ID, and any items that do not meet sale guidelines.  It is the consignors responsibility to look for these items in the lost tags area during pick-up.

    ·         We will be doing tag and quality inspections at check-in and throughout the sale. Be prepared to show us a few of your tags.

    ·         Consignors must hang their clothes on the appropriate labeled racks in the clothing room.

    Pick-Up of Unsold Items

    ·         Unsold items that were marked for return MUST be picked up on the Saturday of the sale between 2:15 pm and 3:15 pm. 

    ·         It is the consignor’s responsibility to check all locations for their unsold items.

    Any item not picked up by 3:15 pm will be donated to charities immediately.

    Please remember that this is our ministry, not a business. We do everything possible to minimize mistakes, but understand that we are fallible. Thank you so much for your involvement; we truly appreciate your participation!
